Dabei werden diese Jahren ihrer frühen Kindheit auch mit einer kindlichen Ahnungslosigkeit oder Naivität wiedergegeben.Man merkt in den Erzählungen deutlich wie Marjane heranwächst, die Situationen besser einschätzen kann und ihre Handlungs- und Denkweisen anpasst. Ihre weltoffene, linksorientierte Familie prägt ihre Entwicklung und ihre Denken natürlich massiv. Selbst alleine in Wien beugt sich Marjane Regeln nicht bedingungslos (schon gar nicht wenn sie keinen Sinn für sie ergeben).Persepolis - The Story of a Return„Persepolis“ist ein Comic, das mit klaren, aussagekräftigen, schwarz-weiß Zeichnungen überzeugt. Doch besonders interessant sind auch die Schilderungen als Marjane Satrapi nach Österreich kommt. Ihre Verwirrung ob der Verhaltensweisen und Bräuche. Denn schließlich sorgt alleine unser Kleidungsstil bei vielen Iraner für Verwunderung. Geschweige denn das freizügig anbiedernde Verhalten einiger Teenager.Ein Comic, das es auf unterhaltsame Weise schafft viel Inhalt und ernste Themen zu vermitteln. Großartige emotionsgeladene Zeichnungen und knackige Texte machen dieses Buch zur Lesefreude. Ganz nebenbei kann man viel Lernen.

Mein Fazit aus einem Aufsatz, den ich in englischer Sprache über diese autobiografische Graphic Novel geschrieben habe:Persepolis was written for people to learn that there is something wrong in Iran in terms of politics as well as in the “West” in terms of preoccupation. The cover, the genre, the perspective through the eyes of a first-person child narrator and the content of the graphic novel, all have a deconstructive effect on established stereotypes and prejudices. Telling the story with only black and white drawings contributes to this by bringing to the reader’s attention that figuratively thinking in only black and white is an inadequate way of thinking. In this way Persepolis mediates between “East” and “West”: Everything about it leads to a blurring of the boundaries between these cultural extremes, with the result that they become at least indistinct, at best irrelevant at all.Persepolis eignet sich wirklich hervorragend, um etwas mehr über den Iran zu erfahren, z.B. über die jüngere Geschichte des Landes, welches ursprünglich Persien hieß, oder woher die "Islamisierung" des Landes rührt. Die Sichtweise ist die eine Kindes, dem Leser fällt schnell auf, dass die Erzählerin eine begrenzte Sichtweise auf die Dinge hat, die um sie herum passieren. Er/sie muss sich darauf einlassen und die gegebenen Informationen der schwarz-weißen Bilder und des Texts filtern, um an die "Wahrheit" zu gelangen. Die Darstellung von Satrapi's Kindheit weist auffällig viele Gemeinsamkeiten mit einer "prototypisch westlichen" Kindheit auf und zeigt, dass viele Vorurteile dem Iran gegenüber hinfällig sind, sodass die Grenzen zwischen "Ost" und "West" verschwimmen, wenn nicht gar unwichtig werden.Dieser erste Teil über Satrapi's Kindheit gefällt mir bei weitem besser als der zweite Teil über ihr späteres Leben in Frankreich.

Persepolis ist ein wundervoller Comic. Der Zeichenstil ist simpel, aber auf den Punkt. Die Story dreht sich um ein jungs Mädchen das in einem Krisengebiet geboren wurde, dort aufwächst und später das Land verlässt. Es zeigt sehr schön die Perspektive einer betroffenen Person.

Marjane Satrapi gibt Einblicke in einen Teil moderner Zeitgeschichte und zugleich in eine Kultur und ein Land, das beinahe täglich in den Nachrichten ist, von dem die allermeisten jedoch kaum etwas wissen. Und das aus der Sicht eines heranwachsenden Kindes, einer Jugendlichen und jungen Frau, in einer Weise, die einen im einen Moment noch laut lachen lässt, um kurz darauf vor Wut und Entsetzen menschlicher Niederträchtigkeit und Heuchelei sprachlos zu sein.Noch umfangreicher und detaillierter als die gleichnamig preisgekrönte Verfilmung. Absolut empfehlenswert!

ich habe es mit Absicht in english gekauft um möglichst falsche Übersetzungen aus dem Weg zu gehen.Wer das nicht liest verpasst was. Und das gefühl hatte ich auch als ich dabei war das zu lesen,wieso ich esnicht vor 2 Jahren gelesen habe. Ich kann es nur sehr sehr empfehlen. Es ist sehr spannend, traurig, emotional,lustigund sehr clever. Sie hat es wirklich auf dem Punkt gebracht ohne die Dinge zu beschönigen und was mir am besten gefallenhat war dass sie sich dabei überhaupt nicht ernst nimmt und über sich selbt lachen kann. sehr humorvoll , einfach klasse, 1 A,

I enjoyed reading Persepolis and would recommend this book to anyone because of the writing style and the pictures that support the text throughout the book. Marjane is different than the others in all situations no matter where she is and this makes it very enjoyable and fun to read because you can never know what she is going to do next.

I love this book and the way it is written. You can find lots of hidden aspects and details about contemporary history of Iran, not from an official view, but from a real experience of an Iranian girl (writer). The narrations of a particular event in the past are not the same. However, most of the times we only hear the official one which is advertised mostly by powers and media. It would be a nice experience to read the history again from different points of views to discover the truth more rationally than emotionally.
